Dr. jur, professor MSO Birgit Feldtmann has been appointed as Aalborg University's representative on the Board of the Danish Institute for Human Rights. She replaces associate professor Jesper Lindholm as the AAU representative. Jesper has served two terms and is a former vice chair of the board.
The Board of the Danish Institute for Human Rights consists of 14 members who are appointed by universities, the Council For Human Rights, the Greenlandic Council for Human Rights and staff at the department. Members are appointed for four years at a time and can serve a maximum of two election periods.

The Danish Insitute of Human Rights works to promote and protect human rights and equal treatment in Denmark and abroad. Birgit's research is directly related to this subject area as it has its starting point in criminal law (in a broad sense) and often moves in the area of tension between national regulation, international law and human rights.
